Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Cartography Vault app for mobile devices, together with any related services operated by KAPIT and KAPIT TOV, collectively referred to as the “Application.” KAPIT is referred to as the “Service Provider.”

This policy is effective as of 2026-06-23.

What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?

The Application does not collect, log, or store any personal information when you download and use it. Registration is not required.

If the Application is used with an active internet connection, technical protocol data, such as an ephemeral IP address, may be transmitted only to facilitate network connectivity. This technical protocol data is not retained or used for tracking.

No accounts: Cartography Vault does not require account creation, login, registration, authorization, password reset, or a user dashboard for normal use.

Precise real-time location information

This Application does not collect precise real-time location information about your mobile device.

Third-party access

Since the Application does not collect personal information, no personal data is shared with third parties. KAPIT does not sell personal data.

Data Retention

Cartography Vault does not collect or retain personal information on KAPIT servers. Because the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, there is no server-side personal data retention period for app usage data.

Collection records that users may create inside the app, such as map titles, creation dates, sheet numbers, era markers, cartographer names, engraver names, publisher names, printing house records, attribution notes, edition details, condition grades, defect photo references, conservation notes, provenance notes, bibliographic citations, dashboard filters, and app preferences, are intended to remain on the user’s device unless a future feature clearly states otherwise.

Server retentionNo personal app usage data is retained by KAPIT.
Local recordsUser-created archive entries remain under the user’s control on the device.

Data Deletion

Since the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, uninstalling the Application removes it from your device. Any locally stored app records are controlled through the device and app storage environment.

If you voluntarily contact KAPIT or provide information through email or another direct channel, you may request deletion of that voluntarily provided information by contacting support@kapit.it.com.

You may also contact KAPIT through info@kapit.it.com or development@kapit.it.com.

Opt-out rights

Because the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, uninstalling it simply removes the Application from your device.

Children

The Application is not intended for children under 13 years of age, or such higher age as required by applicable law. The Service Provider does not knowingly solicit data from children or market to them. Since the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, children’s data is not at risk from use of the Application alone.

If you voluntarily provide personal information through other means and are under 13 years of age, your parent or guardian must provide consent on your behalf where permitted by law.

Security

Because the Application does not collect personal data, the risk of personal data exposure from app usage is minimal. However, no security system is completely secure. The Service Provider implements reasonable safeguards to protect systems and any data it holds.

Data Breach Notification

Since the Application does not collect personal data through normal use, the risk of a data breach affecting your personal data is minimal. If a breach occurs involving any data you have voluntarily provided, the Service Provider will notify you as required by applicable law.

Responsible-use notice

Cartography Vault is a structured antique map archiving, attribution note, condition grading, provenance research, and collection reference utility. It is not certified appraisal software, legal ownership verification software, auction valuation software, official museum collection management software, conservation certification software, or a historical authenticity guarantee.

The Application does not replace professional appraisers, conservators, legal provenance review, institutional cataloging standards, expert bibliographic research, or qualified historical judgment.

Changes

The Service Provider may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The Service Provider will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Privacy Policy with an effective date. Where required by law, the Service Provider will seek consent to material changes before they take effect.

Previous versions of this Privacy Policy will be maintained and made available upon request by contacting the Service Provider.

Your Consent

If you voluntarily provide information to the Service Provider and processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
